Daniel Nathan Sumption, age 33, graduated in Psychology from Bristol University in 1991. He left a dull management position with then-computer-giants Olivetti to pursue further education in computer programming, information architecture and other arcane subjects. He joined Westall in 1995 to manage the burgeoning web-production unit that evolved into Hard Reality. Being that rare beast, a technician with a sense of aesthetics, his focus has always been on producing great interactive pieces that work nice as well as looking nice, and his success in doing so has been recognised in several awards, including a Cannes Lion for CampaignLive and BIMA and DMA awards for Kellogg's work. In 1998 he joined Leo Burnett with Westall, where he has worked closely with clients including Morgan Stanley and Handspring. Throughout all this he has maintained an interest in voluntary work and managed to record a number of non-hit albums with his bands Caustic and Cathy Ray.
